As per reports, the accused officer was identified as Utpal Bora who is the officer-in-charge (OC) at Kharupetia police station in Darrang district.

Bora allegedly used to file fake cases against people in a bid to grab money from them.

This was going on for a long time and eventually, his wrongdoings came to the fore following he was apprehended.

Notably, despite Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma's warning, the government officials are taking bribes.

Earlier, Sarma had warned government officials and told the public to be aware of such people taking bribes and urged them not to give any exceptional money or bribe money to such people.
